A game that showcases decent stages, fascinating weapons and for the most part, godlike enemy placement. The game falls flat in its delivery: Sprites and tiles look awful and many of the different gimmicks and mechanics needed further improvements. Sometimes you just die because something didn’t work the way you expected, or it was never honed down to reflect the base quality of usual Mega Man title. Wily Stages feel rushed: The developer certainly got carried away with the enemy count and some design choices in Wily 3 make you want to step on Lego, instead of carrying on.
If you asked me to name more than two Robot Masters after playing the game, I would fail. I can’t connect the robots to their stages, nor can I connect their weapons to their owners. The game is very forgettable and after weeks fly by, you can’t even remember what the game was called. Enemy placement and stages alone can’t carry the entire experience, and sadly in this case it tastes like flat Cola.
