Developer: Magical Hackers
This fan game manages to insult nearly every aspect of a typical Mega Man game. Broken mechanics, insane knockback, screen stutter and enemies that don’t make sense: This is just to name a few general problems. The developer has no idea how Mega Man works, and it’s clear. Even one of the most memorable aspects of any Mega Man game is missing: Good music. Instead, we get depressing chiptunes.
No matter how I try to word this summary, I can’t begin to explain how bitter this game made me. You really need to watch the full evaluation to understand all of the issues. The only good thing 42 has going for it is the weapons, they’re moderately fun to use when they work. Mega Man 42 feels like everything is just there, just to be there. Enemy placements don’t make sense, Robot Masters are finicky and their designs are questionable. Stages are repetitious and put together blindly.
